Jacopo Di Cera: Photography, Matter and Contemporary Vision

Jacopo Di Cera develops an artistic research that combines photography, digital experimentation and attention to the material dimension of the image. His work stands out for an essential and contemporary gaze, capable of transforming places, forms and presences into compositions suspended between reality and abstraction.

At the heart of his poetics is Photomaterialism, an artistic movement founded by Di Cera, in which photography moves beyond a purely two-dimensional dimension to transform matter into a visual and narrative language.

His language is recognizable for its balance between compositional order, color and formal synthesis. Di Cera’s images return reality observed from a distance, allowing its hidden structures, rhythms and geometries to emerge.

The Zenithal Gaze and the Sospesi Project

Among the most recognizable elements of Jacopo Di Cera’s research is zenithal photography, a gaze from above that transforms everyday reality into composition, rhythm and abstraction. It is a suspended perspective, capable of offering a new vision of the world: people, places and collective gestures become part of a broader design, in which the human figure turns into a visual sign.

This poetics finds one of its most significant expressions in the Sospesi project, a research path dedicated to the visual study of contemporary Italian identity. Through images taken from above, Di Cera observes landscapes and moments of collective life, creating works in which aesthetics and reflection coexist.

Each shot arises from careful work on composition and color: the landscape becomes a pictorial surface, the human figure becomes a graphic element, while photography enters into dialogue with digital art and a strong material component.

Italian Summer Edition: New Works in Preview

On the occasion of the exhibition in PietrasantaJacopo Di Cera presents two new screen prints in preview. Produced in a limited edition of 50 copiessigned and numbered by the artist, these works continue his research into composition, color and the relationship between photographic image and surface.

The new screen prints introduce a further stage of research in Di Cera’s path, confirming his ability to transform the contemporary visual imaginary into ordered, luminous and highly recognizable forms.

Jacopo Di Cera in Pietrasanta

Italian Summer Edition brings to the Deodato Arte gallery in Pietrasanta a selection of works that immediately conveys Jacopo Di Cera’s language: a gaze from above, essential and ordered, in which color, geometry and composition construct suspended and recognizable images.
